The past two weeks have included reviewing note values by making the following notes out of pipe cleaners: whole note half note quarter note eighth note (Story of "The Lonely Eighth Note".) Reviewing reading notes on a staff (treble and bass) using mini white boards and "river rocks". This week, we made words out of the notes (A, B, C, D, E, F, and G) and wrote them on the staff. Students have practiced reading these words. The next step, is playing the "words" to see what they sound like. (The glockenspiel is pictured, but we have also done this on the piano.) Can you read the word pictured? Some other words the kids came up with: egg dad ab edge deaf cabbage
